The Project

Conceptual branding for Kicks Museum, which aims to examine the rise of sneaker culture and the complex social history that led to its commodification and cultural influence.

The Process

We created promotional advertisements, merchandise, ticket design, and signage.

Evoking the origins of the culture, using graphic design.

We created a bold, street-inspired brand and asset collection.

Graffiti-type accents & color palette

We created hand-done patterns to use across touchpoints to look like spray paint artworks. It also wouldn't be reflective of the late 80s without a bright color palette. We pulled resources from magazines and photos from the era in order to create the color palette.

Collage-style artwork

Using magazine cut-outs and photography from the 80s and 90s, we edited and mixed together pieces to make the photography feel intentionally vintage, rather than forcefully so. Not just 'old' photos.
